Subject: Project Management - Red Streak
I would like to first thank you for allowing me to work on the project management team to assist in developing the new razor scooter Red Streak. I have created a project schedule that will provide you with the deployment details from start to finish on this assignment.
Red Streak is set to begin on January 3, 2017 and has an estimated completion date of October 3, 2017. Assuming there are no mishaps, the project should be completed in nine months. Task 5 "Product Design Selection" is the critical path to this project due to the fact the following 3 tasks (Detailed Marketing Plan, Manufacturing Process and Detailed Product Design) cannot begin until it is completed. Any setbacks in the Product Design Selection will create a ripple effect on the tasks that follow and their completion dates.
While each task in this project has a due date, some tasks have more flexibility than others. Task 7, the Manufacturing Process is set to be completed on May 31, 2017. However, it is not pertinent to the start dates of any task up until the Finalized Product task which begins on July 12, 2017. Therefore, the Manufacturing Process can "slack" until July 12, 2017 without affecting the final completion date for the project.
